Blast Furnace Slag

Produced during the steel making process dense rock material is processed and sized into specific products suitable for diverse applications.

Granulated Slag (GBS)

Granulated slag is produced by rapidly cooling molten blast furnace slag with water as the slag is tapped from the furnace. Also known as granulate. Used in cement manufacture and cementitious applications

Air-cooled slag (ABS)

Used primarily as a construction aggregate, air-cooled blast furnace slag (ABS) is used as granular and general fills, for capping, surface dressing and more.

Toplight C

Tarmac’s lightweight structural concrete produced using specialist engineered high strength lightweight aggregate and admixtures to provide much lower densities compared to standard conventional concrete.

Surface Dressing Aggregates

A range of high PSV aggregates produced to BS EN 12272-1. The chippings are manufactured in high quality gritstone and steel slag.

Gabion Stone

Crushed rock graded to specific size for filling gabion baskets.

Drainage Aggregates

Graded and single sized aggregates produced to Series 500 – Specification of Highway Works for use as drainage and filter material. Manufactured with crushed rock and gravel.

Capping Layer

A graded aggregate manufactured to Series 600 – Specification for Highway Works. Class 6F4 fine grading 0/32mm and 6F5 coarse grading 0/80mm.

Type 1 Sub Base Clause 803

A graded angular material, either crushed rock, crushed slag or recycled aggregates, that meets the requirements of Clause 803 – Specification for Highway Works.
