Overview
Tarmac secured the supply for 11,000m3 of sprayed concrete for the Carnwath Road shaft on the Tideway project in London.
Our solution
Our expertise focused on how we can limit the environmental impact of our RMX plant, such as noise and dust affecting the local communities. We ensured our site team fully understood the controls and requirements of Transport for London to meet their standards.
We operated in a very confined area where we required our expertise in managing health and safety. We operated on site for 12 months and had zero accidents. We communicated and managed efficiently and effectively the induction to over 100 drivers and we would take a similar or improved approach to ensure delivery drivers meet SCS requirements.
Our material expertise, design knowledge of concrete and our facilities to trial in laboratories and our plants ensured our design mix was right first time and was compliant to Tideway standards.
We operated a RMX plant, reducing its environmental impact, maintaining high safety standards and delivered a bespoke technical solution for sprayed concrete.
