Tarmac’s Aberthaw Cement Plant has supported Barry Town Veterans FC with the donation of a pitch side defibrillator.

Tarmac, the UK’s leading sustainable building materials and construction solutions business, has successfully achieved the Clear Assured Gold Standard for its commitment to inclusion and diversity in the workplace.  

This week marks Learning at Work Week (LAW Week) – a unique annual event to build learning cultures at work. Running from 15 to 21 May 2023, the week is led nationally by Campaign for Learning and by employers and learning champions in their organisations.

Tarmac is part of a world-first project which has been launched to create a net zero future for the cement and lime industry.  Located in the Peak District, the project will prevent over 3 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions each year by 2030.   

Rothley Bowls Club, in Leicestershire, has been able to upgrade its facilities, thanks to a £9,450 donation from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund. 

Members of Buxton Park Bowling Club, Derbyshire, are enjoying new facilities, thanks to a £10,746 grant from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund. 

Tarmac is bringing an electrically powered bond coat sprayer to roads in the UK in a world-first project to support the transition to net zero.  

Yesterday [Thursday 11 May] HS2 announced that 10 million tonnes of material have been delivered to – and removed from – construction sites by rail, a major milestone in HS2’s plan to cut carbon emissions by removing lorries from roads.

In a UK first, BAM, the Environment Agency and Tarmac, a CRH company, have successfully trialled the use of two low carbon concrete mixes in permanent works at the Hexham Flood Alleviation Scheme.
