Book now for Tarmac’s ‘Accelerating delivery’ webinar series

July 15, 2020

Tarmac has launched a new highways and infrastructure webinar series, with industry professionals now able to sign up and register for the free events.

Over the coming weeks, the leading construction solutions business will be hosting ‘Accelerating delivery in the age of Covid-19’, a series of online events for the highways and infrastructure sectors.

The events will profile major projects but also consider ways that clients, contractors and supply chains – including those working across the local and strategic highways network – can work together to accelerate project delivery in the age of Covid-19.

To deliver the Government’s multi-billion-pound pipeline of new infrastructure investment, members of Tarmac’s experienced team and leading industry guest speakers will be exploring the new opportunities to drive positive change and establish a more sustainable, productive, and resilient industry.

Paul Fleetham, managing director of Tarmac’s construction business, said: “As the UK emerges from the Covid-19 crisis, major infrastructure, roads and construction projects will become an increasingly vital lever to driving growth and economic recovery, and it’s critical the industry is geared up and primed to deliver these schemes safely and with maximum efficiency.

“We’re looking forward to hosting the series and sharing a wealth of practical advice, techniques and knowledge with industry professionals working across the local and strategic highways networks, as well as covering themes that focus on how the wider construction industry can boost productivity, cut carbon, and support a greener economic recovery.”

The first session in the series, taking place on Thursday, 30th July 2020, will focus on the installation of the iconic Silverstone international racing circuit’s new record-breaking asphalt surface – one year on from one of the most complex and logistically challenging projects Tarmac has ever undertaken.

Silverstone managing director Stuart Pringle and Tarmac technical manager Tim Smith will explain how cutting-edge technology and processes – including the first UK use of 3D GPS guided planing – were used to successfully complete the project within a narrow timeframe, and how these practical solutions could influence the way major road projects are carried out in future

Future events over summer will cover how local authority highways maintenance teams have been embracing new best practice in the era of coronavirus, and consider the ways closer collaboration between clients, contractors and supply chain partners can drive infrastructure programmes forward and boost productivity

Details of the three events in the series are listed below together, and further information about each webinar including how to register is available by following the link.
