An assistant regional finance manager from Tarmac has been recognised for his achievements at a regional awards event.
Tom Swainson, assistant regional finance manager (Contracting N&S) at Tarmac, has won an award at the 2019 West Midlands Finance Awards in Birmingham.
During the event at Birmingham International Convention Centre Tom received the Highly Commended Award in the ‘Rising Star of the Year’ (Non/Part Qualified) category; having developed his career at Tarmac since joining the company’s Graduate Scheme in 2016.
The annual awards, which took place on Thursday 5 December, promote and celebrate the outstanding achievements of businesses and individuals within the West Midlands’ finance community.
Steve Edgar, finance manager, commented: “Tom has had a fantastic first year in his current role, immersing himself in all the opportunities Tarmac has to offer and taking full advantage of the support our whole Finance team was able to offer. From serving as a STEM ambassador to improving our Graduate Scheme for finance graduates, Tom’s recognition is well deserved.”
Tom added: “This is a great personal achievement and it recognises the commitment Tarmac have shown since I joined the business. The awards evening was a great event. Being there as a team provided the perfect opportunity for us to celebrate our success, and it shows the fantastic support network at Tarmac.”
