Tarmac has launched a new CPD module designed to provide specialist guidance on understanding low carbon concrete and how to specify them.
Aimed primarily architects, design engineers and product managers, the free CPD offers an in-depth exploration of the scale of concrete use in construction and what technical and operational challenges are associated with removing carbon emissions from cement and concrete production.
Issues covered within the CPD include helping industry professionals understand the trade-offs and decision making involved with choosing low carbon materials. It also features an update on materials innovation and current options available for low carbon concretes, and an introduction to Tarmac’s low carbon concrete solution. In addition, there is a focus on sustainable value engineering and using smarter material selections to reduce net carbon emissions.
“At Tarmac, we feel that we need look at every aspect of our manufacture and supply to support real progress towards Net Zero in order to truly advance carbon reductions,” said Andy Campling, Head of Readymix Performance at Tarmac. “Our new ‘Understanding Low Carbon Concrete’ CPD is a testament to our dedication in supporting the industry and ensuring that professionals are fully equipped with the knowledge and understanding required to move forward with low carbon construction solutions.”
