The theme of this year’s International Women’s Day (IWD) is all about embracing equity and there’s undoubtedly scope for the construction sector to improve its track record in this area.  Equity is different to equality and recognises that each individual has different needs and circumstances. It’s about allocating the resources and opportunities needed to reach an equal outcome.

The creation of a new public woodland commemorating the life of Her Majesty has been officially completed, thanks to volunteers from local schools, residents, businesses and community groups. 

Some of the UK’s rarest species will be given a unique home thanks to a historical land deal 25 years in the making. Ownership of a wetland habitat has transferred to the RSPB in Nottinghamshire.

Hertfordshire dignitaries and community leaders came together on Thursday 19 January to plant trees and mark Panshanger Park’s contribution to the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative. 

Chalk grassland has been likened to tropical rainforests for the rich diversity of wildlife it holds, with Tarmac and partners instrumental in restoring threatened chalk grassland located at Ladds Farm in Snodland, Kent.
