Tarmac secures National Highways framework contract in multi-region win
Tarmac has won a major new contract with National Highways to maintain, repair and renew roads across England as part of its Pavement Delivery Framework (PDF).
Running from April 2023 to March 2028, the framework will see Tarmac supply the materials, plant and labour to carry out patching, surfacing and pavement construction, ensuring roads and pathways are maintained to the highest standard across the strategic road network.
Shiplake playground renovations completed thanks to Tarmac donation
A children’s playground in Shiplake, Henley-On-Thames, has undergone a vast renovation and expansion, thanks to a £50,000 donation from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund.
The playground, located at the Memorial Hall off Memorial Avenue, had just swings, a slide, a springer chair and a climbing frame, until the revamp took place. After completing the year-long project, it now features equipment designed for children of different ages and abilities.

Tarmac donation makes a big splash in Settle Swimming Pool refurbishments
Settle Swimming Pool, in North Yorkshire, has been renovated thanks to a donation of £50,000 from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund.
The community swimming pool – originally built in 1970s – was in need of major repairs, requiring additional funding. With the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund contribution, the pool has now been successfully renovated, with changing rooms also modernised, a reception area extended and a new café and multi-use wellbeing centre added, called fitSpace.

Herts residents invited to join tree planting events at Panshanger Park
Local residents are being encouraged to get digging at a series of tree planting days, as part of Panshanger Park’s contribution to the Queen’s Green Canopy initiative.
Designed to create a living legacy in Her Majesty’s name, a new public woodland is set to be created at the Hertford-based park through the project and will include a total of 17,000 trees. The land set aside for the project, will help to restore woodland areas and parkland in the northern part of the park, which is currently used for arable farming.
