A project to develop a wellbeing garden for serving personnel at RAF Brize Norton, Oxfordshire, is taking shape – with Tarmac support.

This February Tarmac is spreading the simple message ‘bee kind’ to help raise awareness of the UK’s declining bee population, which is having a hugely negative impact on the environment.

The dismantling of the Perry Barr flyover in north Birmingham has successfully been completed by Tarmac, marking a major milestone in Phase 2 of the A34 Perry Barr highways improvement scheme.

Tarmac is celebrating the success of higher apprentices and graduates who have completed the businesses two-year core skills development programme – a programme designed to equip higher apprentices and graduates with the skills and knowledge needed for a successful career within the construction industry.

Students at a local secondary school have been given an opportunity to quiz employees at Tarmac about the benefits of ‘earning and learning’ to mark the start of this year’s National Apprenticeship Week.

Tarmac is calling on industry professionals from across the construction and infrastructure industry to take part in research aimed at providing a snapshot of views and attitudes to carbon reduction and net zero.

Tarmac and its suppliers pulled together to install a new car park and access road for Cheshire based children’s charity, The Joshua Tree. Operating across the North West and North Wales, the charity is dedicated to working closely with families affected by childhood cancers.

Tarmac has supplied employees with coats during their shifts at a Walsall based COVID-19 vaccine centre. Employees including marshals and traffic volunteers have been guiding the busy traffic at the centre each day, despite cold and wet weather conditions.

Announced at Thursday night’s first-ever virtual Highways Awards ceremony (28th January), Tarmac has been awarded Team of the Year for delivering exceptional resurfacing works at none other than the Silverstone Circuit.
