Tarmac cements links with Dunbar RNLI

Tarmac’s Dunbar Cement plant recently supported its local Royal National Lifeboat Institution (RNLI) with a donation towards its annual Lifeboat Fete.

The plant donated £1,688 towards the cost of the event, which helps the charity raise money to continue its work to save lives at sea.

First train for new Tarmac Peak District rail link 

Building materials and construction solutions company Tarmac, a CRH company, which operates Hillhead Quarry in Derbyshire, has reopened a Peak District rail connection to expand the supply of aggregates to its customers via freight trains.  

Villagers celebrate opening of new pavilion thanks to Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund grant

Residents of Furness Vale in the Peak District are celebrating the grand opening of a new community pavilion.

Furness Community Organising Green Spaces (COGS) was awarded £72,270 from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund, which enabled the charity to reach its fundraising goal to build a new community pavilion on the village field, along with installing a sustainable solar heating system.

Tarmac looks back on a year of progress with 2022 sustainability report

Building materials and construction solutions provider Tarmac has published its annual sustainability report for 2022. The report records the progress made against the ambitions set out in Tarmac’s Act sustainability strategy in 2021 and its three central themes of People, Planet, and Solutions.
