Tarmac is proud to support its LGBTQ+ colleagues and allies as an inclusive employer and partner in the construction and sustainable materials industry.
We’re proud not just during National Pride Month, but day in and day out. That’s why we have two dedicated community groups to support our employees.
The first LGBTQ+ employee community was formed last year and is open to members and allies. The group aims to connect colleagues and foster social inclusion, as well as generating mentoring and coaching opportunities, offering personal and professional development and ensuring visibility for LGBTQ+ colleagues.
There is also a second private group, run by peers, for colleagues who identify and may be seeking private support, in addition to our more open forums.
In a few weeks’ time, we’ll be welcoming Scarlet Marie Davey Morgan, Allianz’s first global transgender ambassador, to hear her views on the reality of discrimination in the workplace and beyond. We’ll also discuss what we can all do as members or allies of the LGBTQ+ community to support equality, inclusivity and wellbeing for all.
Louise Houston, our head of inclusion and diversity (I&D), comments: “Pride is such an important event. At Tarmac we want everyone to feel welcome, it takes us all every day to achieve the workplace we all deserve.
“Pride month isn’t just about sharing images of rainbow flags at Tarmac. It’s a celebration of all the work we’ve done together to create an inclusive environment for all. We remain deeply committed to building further on our I&D measures across both company policies and culture.”
