Tarmac has clinched a prestigious Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) Gold Award for its health and safety practices.
The award – selected amongst a field of 2,000 entrants – was given in recognition of the company’s practices and achievements in helping employees and contractors get home safely at the end of each working day.
The accolade – given to its Contracting, Building Products and Materials businesses – cited a range of initiatives including the quality of Tarmac’s three-year health and safety strategy, the support of the company’s internal communications team, the involvement of the company’s leadership team, peer-to-peer reviews by colleagues, and the launch of new contractor management standards as well as the transformation of the induction process.

The majority of RoSPA awards are non-competitive and mark achievement at merit, bronze, silver and gold levels, and are given to the best entries in 24 industry sectors across construction, healthcare, transport and logistics, engineering, manufacturing and education.
