Tarmac has announced its fourth Supplier Sustainability Week which will explore the wider sustainability landscape in partnership with its supply chain.
Running from 25 to 28 November, the week will include a series of free-to-join 60-minute sessions, showcasing Tarmac’s ongoing commitment to sustainability through work with its supply partners. The week will dedicate a day to each of CRH/ Tarmac’s sustainability values; decarbonisation, circularity and water, communicating the company’s objectives and customer needs as well as outlining some of the excellent work achieved in each of these areas.
The week will also see the launch of the new Tarmac Innovation Pipeline, a platform enabling current and potential suppliers to submit innovations that will support Tarmac in delivering our Net Zero strategy.
Alistair Graham, Procurement Director at Tarmac, said: “Over the past three years, our Supplier Sustainability events have engaged more than 6,000 participants, helping to uncover and fast-track several key sustainability initiatives. From reducing carbon emissions across our supply chain to exploring new technologies, these collaborations are critical in shaping the future of our industry”.
Emma Hines, Sustainability Director at Tarmac, said “As the pressure builds for the construction sector to meet net zero targets, it’s vital that we continue to operate and grow in a sustainable and responsible way. As a business we are fully committed to ensuring sustainability remains central to everything we do. We equally recognise our responsibility for working collaboratively with our suppliers and customers to develop solutions that help create a more sustainable built environment, Supplier Sustainability week is a prime example of this.”
