Tarmac is proud to have supported the Kingsley Venture Valley Project Team with nearly £20,000 funding toward the much-needed regeneration of the recreation area in Kingsley.
The funding has been provided through the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund, with the project aiming to provide an inspiring, safe and enjoyable space for all village children to play. Following extensive consultation with Kingsley residents and several playground providers, a plan was drawn up that would incorporate enough equipment to make a real difference for the village children.
The donation means that the work can now proceed in full, with the playground design expanded to include a zipwire in addition to a range of equipment catering for a wide range of ages and abilities: three different swing types, small and large climbing frames with slides, two springers, a spinner, an obstacle course and a seesaw. The design has a woodland adventure feel, using hard-wearing Robinia wood in simple natural structures to blend in with its beautiful surroundings.
The grant will also purchase several new seating elements for the park and will free up other funds to be spent on improving access to the recreation ground and installing new goalposts on the adjacent football pitch.
Lucy, Mandie and Lou from the Kingsley Venture Valley team said: “The donation from the Tarmac Landfill Communities Fund is a great boost towards the regeneration project, allowing the work to finally proceed after over eighteen months of hard work. It is fantastic to see a local company supporting our community to provide an exciting, safe and enjoyable space for the village children to play and others to spend time in. We intend this beautiful space to become something we can all share in being proud of”.
A spokesperson for Tarmac said “We are excited to support this project and look forward to seeing in completed. We hope this make a big difference to the local community and be enjoyed by generations to come.”
This latest donation is in addition to funds already donated by Kingsley Parish Council, Kingsley Community Fund and the National Lottery Community Fund, bringing the total amount raised for the project to over £50,000.
