Circular Aggregates
Circular Solution Aggregates – helping construction, infrastructure and agriculture to support a low carbon economy.
As we progress towards a Net Zero world, we need to make more sustainable choices our default. Circular Solutions Aggregates reuse materials to protect virgin aggregates. Helping achieve improved whole life outcomes.
Inherent material benefits deliver premium performance.
Steel slag aggregates provide high abrasion and crushing resistance for road applications.
Our fertiliser uses carefully manufactured materials to deliver a high performance product that promotes a circular approach to the use of waste.
Our use of blast furnace slag as a secondary aggregate offers a range of applications, durability.

Asphalt solutions
CSAggs, steel slag produces an aggregate that:
- Provides excellent resistance to deformation of ruts in surface course asphalt
- Ensures long life of road surfaces
- Is hard wearing – providing a durable material that will not wear away
- Resists polishing, providing safe riding surfaces for the whole life of the road.
Construction
The physical and chemical properties of CSAggs offer a valuable mix of performance benefits.
CSAggs are quality controlled, manufactured aggregates which are used in a range of construction applications. Unlike quarried aggregates, slag is produced in a batch process with the chemistry of the raw materials tightly controlled. Ultimately, this delivers an aggregate which is predictable and consistent.
- Durable and strong
- Lower specific gravity and greater surface area than most primary aggregates
- Highly resistant to weathering action such as freeze
- Mildly alkaline (pH-value 8-10)
- No corrosion risk to steel in pilings or to steel embedded in concrete made with blast furnace slag cement and/or aggregates
- Highly resistant to sulfate attack and alkali-silica reaction
- Blast furnace, CSAggs offer a lower bulk density verses other aggregates
Agriculture
CSAggs –Agslag fertiliser maintains a constant level of phosphate release over long periods. CSAggs - AgSlag only needs to be applied every two to three years depending on the soil pH-value and phosphate response. This saves significant time and cost compared to the annual application of chemical fertilisers whose phosphate levels diminish during the year.
- Maximise yields of cultivated crops and pasture
- Improve soil texture
- Neutralize high soil acidity
