Hemelite Standard blocks are a lightweight medium density aggregate block suitable for a wide range of construction details including load bearing applications, Hemelite Standard blocks are ideal for general use in walls above or below ground, beam & block floors and have a high level of proven technical performance.
Where can HEMELITE Standard be used?
Walls Above and Below DPC
Hemelite blocks can be used for general purpose walling both below and above the damp-proof course.
Solid external walls and Internal Walls
For solid walls Hemelite blocks can be used to provide good levels of sound insulation, fire resistance and have a low weight to strength ratio when being used in residential, commercial and industrial applications. Hemelite blocks are high performance and will help you meet design standards, regulations and in some cases buildings insurance clauses.
When used for external walls the blockwork should be rendered or clad.
Cavity Walls
Hemelite Medium Dense & Lightweight blocks can be used in both inner and outer leafs of cavity walls offering high performance in thermal and acoustic performance, helping meet building regulations.
Sound Separating Walls
Hemelite Medium Dense & Lightweight blocks can be used in the construction of separating walls resisting sound transmission. They may be used in a wide range of Robust Detail constructions including partial fill and fully filled cavities as well as construction undergoing Part E Building Regulations pre completion testing.
Beam & Block Floors
Hemelite blocks are suitable for use in beam and block floors offering efficient installation and helping achieve sound insulation when used in conjunction with both sound separating and flanking walls.
Loadbearing walls
Hemelite blocks are produced to Category 2 manufacturing control as defined in BS 5628-1 and are suitable for use in load bearing walls within structural applications from domestic building through to large scale commercial.
