It’s rapid set and high early strength development help reduce construction and road closure times, making it ideal for both planned and emergency repairs. Typical applications include the bedding of inspection chamber frames/covers, gully grates, stanchion posts, kerb stones, setts and other street furniture installations.

Ultibed Mortar 90 is a general purpose, rapid set and rapid strength bedding mortar. Its fast setting properties mean that Ultibed Mortar 90 can be opened to traffic just 90 minutes after being mixed and placed.
Ultibed Mortar 90 technical data is as follows;
- Water Addition (per 25kg) 2.5 to 3.0 litres
- Workability 5-10 minutes
- Set Time <20 minutes
- Shrinkage Less than 0.001%
- Density 2250-2300kg/m3
- Yield (per 25kg) 12.2 litres
The above figures are derived from laboratory testing at 20°C and at a WSR of 0.12.
Ultibed Mortar 90 strength data is as follows;
- After 90 minutes, compressive strength of 20.0 N/mm2 and flexural strength of 4.5 N/mm2
- After 4 hours, compressive strength of 25.0 N/mm2 and flexural strength of 6.5 N/mm2
- After 1 day, compressive strength of 45.0 N/mm2 and flexural strength of 7.5 N/mm2
- After 7 days, compressive strength of 60.0 N/mm2 and flexural strength of 8.0 N/mm2
- After 28 days, compressive strength of 75.0 N/mm2 and flexural strength of 8.5 N/mm2
The above figures are derived from laboratory testing at 20°C and at a WSR of 0.12.
When using Ultibed Mortar 90 it is easy to clean tools and equipment with water. Cleaning of tools and equipment should be carried out as soon as is practicable and ideally well away from the application area.
