Who are contracting?
The Construction division of the business operates from 23 regional offices strategically placed across the UK. Tarmac have a long-established record of working in a variety of environments including major new-build highways projects, airfield surfacing, motorway and trunk road reconstruction schemes, as well as smaller scale surfacing works, such as non-trunk roads, residential streets, industrial estates and car parks. Such projects are undertaken for both the public and private sectors and involve a range of activities both as principal contractor and as a major subcontractor.
Tarmac operate separate specialist arms of the business for term maintenance, civil engineering, traffic management and planing, reducing the reliance on subcontractors and providing invaluable experience and expertise during the design and construction stages of a project.

New PAVE technology, digital road construction
Cutting carbon in roads
At Tarmac we have proven materials, logistics processes and experience in reducing the carbon emissions of our contracting schemes. Early in '21 on the A11 at Thetford we cut over 1000 tonnes of carbon emissions on an 8km scheme.
We'd love to tell you how.
At the UK home of F1 we piloted new innovation of contracting process, logistics planning, planing, material supply and surface paving.
Proven, the technologies are now being applied to our strategic road network.
