Our specialist sectors
Highways
Investment in and management of highway assets are clear priorities for Central and Local Government and the Private Sector. In the UK the highway asset comprises pavement, footways, structures, communications, lighting and ancillary assets. It is valued at over £800bn.
Tarmac Infrastructure use our technical and operational experience to work with clients in developing bespoke solutions. These projects require detailed and meticulous planning around logistics, materials supply and construction to ensure the network can remain moving.
Ports and harbours
Massive volumes of freight and passenger movement in and out of the UK require a robust coastal infrastructure capability, and with capacity projected to increase 182% for containers and 101% for roll-on-roll-off traffic by 2030 there is a pressing need to expand and update.
Tarmac Infrastructure understand that working in this unique environment requires skill, experience and specialist material capability to meet the challenges of scheduled work programmes that are often dependent on the need to keep sites operational and meet tidal window limitations.
Having worked in partnership with Port Authorities, local and district councils, DEFRA and numerous civil engineering contractors on a wide range of complex and challenging projects, we offer an unrivalled combination of experience, knowledge and expertise. Tarmac is proud to have contributed to the two most significant UK marine engineering projects of the last 50 years – The Thames Barrier and Channel Tunnel.
Aviation
With air travel essential to commerce and lifestyle, Tarmac Infrastructure offer our customers expert knowledge and unparalleled experience in construction material supply and project delivery. From logistics and quality to working windows and mobile or on-site capability, we offer solutions that deliver durable, secure and effective building.
In aviation there is no room for error. Collaboratively we ensure that project requirement is completely understood. We recognize the need to think bigger and are all aware of the project objectives. Our delivery is meticulously planned and rehearsed with risks continually reviewed to ensure that the complex impacts of airport operations, safety and security are met.
